This release reorganizes the 1042/1042-S e-file experience. Filing actions are now separate from generation and export actions, so you can find and manage e-file actions faster.
What's changed
The E-file modal no longer groups all filing actions together. E-file 1042, E-file 1042-S, and E-file Extension actions are now in the E-file side panel. Export and Generate actions are now in a new panel called Generate and Export 1042-S/1042.
You can e-file Form 1042-S from the E-file side panel. Previously, you could only e-file Form 1042-S from the Actions menu.
A Submission History list is now available under the Form 1042-S list in the left navigation panel.
Clearer amendment generation and filing process
After a submission is accepted, the Generate button in the Generate and Export 1042-S/1042 panel changes to Generate amendment. This matches the existing behaviour in the 1042 modal, where the amended option defaults to Yes when you need to change an accepted form. You can also generate an amendment from the E-file panel.
After you generate the amendment, the option in the E-file panel changes to E-file amendment.
- Use E-file amendment to submit the amendment as a new filing.
