We’re pleased to share the latest Calculus updates, which introduce several enhancements aimed at improving document management, recipient access to 1042-S forms, filtering capabilities, and import efficiency.
What’s included in this release:
- New Download Action for Users and Vendors that allows admins to merge all filtered documents for a record into a single PDF.
- “1042-S Issued” Email Update to include a direct link for recipients to access their 1042-S forms (based on tax year status and electronic consent).
- New “Exported Documents” Filter for Users and Vendors to better track document export activity.
- Downloadable Import Error Log (CSV) for imports to simplify error review and troubleshooting
Full details for each update are outlined in the release notes below.
- New Download Action for Users and Vendor Records
A new Download action has been added to the Actions side panel within both the User and Vendor lists.
What’s new
- Admins can now download and merge all filtered document PDFs belonging to the same user or vendor into a single PDF.
- This simplifies document management and reduces the need to download files individually.
File naming conventions
- Single document downloaded:
Record Name + Document Type + System ID - Multiple documents combined into one PDF:
Record Name + System ID
The combined PDF is automatically named after the user or vendor for easier identification and tracking.
- 1042-S Issued Email Updated to Include Account Link
The 1042-S issued email, sent either manually (from the Actions side panel) or automatically (set either from System & Security settings for users, or Vendors Settings for vendors) includes a redirect link to the user or vendor’s account.
What the link does
- Directs recipients to their Calculus account where they can access their 1042-S recipient copies.
- Always redirects to the Tax Forms page for the tax year associated with the email.
Behaviour based on tax year status
If the tax year is not finalized:
- Recipient copies remain hidden, even if Electronic Consent has been provided.
- If the Tax Forms page is not accessible due to missing or incomplete information, recipients are redirected to the appropriate page to complete the required data (consistent with existing system behavior).
If the tax year is finalized:
- The link directs recipients to the Tax Forms page where they can download their forms.
- Forms are visible only if Electronic Consent has been provided by the user or vendor.
- New “Exported Documents” Filter for Users and Vendors
A new Exported Documents filter has been added to the User & Vendor lists to improve visibility into document export activity. This new column named “Exported Documents” shows user and vendor records who have had documents exported by an admin.
Available filter conditions
- Between: Displays records with exported documents between two selected dates.
- Exported: Displays all records that include an “Exported Documents” date, indicating at least one document has been exported.
- Non-exported: Displays records where the “Exported Documents” column shows N/A.
This filter helps admins quickly identify which records have or have not had documents exported.
- Downloadable Import Error Log (CSV)
A new Download Error Log CSV link is now available on import results.
What’s new
- A downloadable CSV file listing all errors returned after an import is initiated.
- This enables easier review, sharing, and troubleshooting of import issues outside the system.
