An overview of the 1042-S List Filter, Columns, and Views features.
The 1042-S List in Calculus is a tool for managing 1042-S data, generating reports, creating and saving custom filters and views, and exporting data to external files.
Filters allow you to quickly find specific information within your 1042-S List. You can filter by various criteria such as income code, tax rate, user type, and more.
Create Filter
1. Login to your Calculus Account.
2. On the left side menu, click on Form 1042-S.
3. Click on the Filter button.
4. A pop-up will appear to create a filter with 3 options: Column, Comparator and Option.
- Column: all columns visible in the 1042-S list you can filter by
- Comparator: choose the comparator criteria depending on what you're looking up
- Option: choose the value you're looking up
Example: If you wish to look up all 1042-S forms for Income code 16, you would select the following
5. You can add more than one condition to filter by by clicking the "Add Condition" button.
For example: if you wish to look up 1042-S forms for income code 16 at 0% tax rate, you would select the following
6. When you have 2 or more conditions in your filter you can select to either filter by condition 1 AND condition 2 or condition 1 OR condition 2 by clicking on the far left joint condition to toggle between the 2:
7. To apply the filter, click "Search".
Create View
1. Login to your Calculus Account.
2. On the left side menu, click on Form 1042-S.
3. Click on the Columns button.
4. In the pop-up you can deselect the columns which you'd like to hide from your view:
5. When you're ready, click on the X button to close the pop-up.
Saving Filters and Views for future use
To save a filter or view for future use, click on Reports and then "Create Report":
9. Give your report a name and hit "Create"
10. You can load the saved filters/views from "Reports":
Important: If you have both applied a filter and edited the visible columns, and then you save your current state (filter and view) under Reports, you can later on apply them simultaneously when you select the saved Report.
