You can use these guides to get started

Account Data

The Account Data tab provides Administrator Owner with visibility and control over Institution details and other account options within Calculus.

Access Account Data

1. Login to your Calculus Account.

2. Click on Account on the upper right corner.

3. Click on Account Data.

Entity Details

On initial set up, Calculus will input your institution data here. Administrators with edit permissions can modify institution data as needed.

1. Address: View and update the physical address of the institution.

Info: Updating the entity name requires assistance from Calculus Support.

2. Sprintax Calculus Name: you can adjust the name that administrators and users see at login.

3. Phone Number can be added if desired

4. EIN Number: Displays the Employer Identification Number associated with the institution.

5. If your entity is foreign, you can provide foreign address, Foreign Taxpayer ID, phone number and Withholding Agent’s Global Intermediary Identification Number (GIIN).

6. Type of Organization: Indicates the organization type classification for tax purposes.

7. Type of Withholding Agent: Specifies the type of withholding agent designation.

8. Withholding Agent's Chapter 3 and 4 status codes for tax withholding purposes are to be selected as well.

9. You can select to 

     a. use these entity details on all tax forms.

     b. select the account as Test

     c. select the account for deletion

     d. select you are a foreign based institution

     e. select your entity meets the definition set in Section 509(a)(3)

Support Email

Administrators can set a dedicated support email address for foreign nationals to contact instead of Calculus Support for inquiries.

Contact Person

Administrators with permissions can add contact persons. The first contact person added will appear on the 1042-S E-file TXT document as the primary contact.

1. Name, Email, Title, Phone Number and Zip Code are mandatory to complete.

Warning: It's important to include a phone number so the TXT file does not get rejected.

2. Additional fields are optional

3. Additional contact persons can be added by clicking on the add blue button

4. If you wish to remove this contact person, click 'Delete' on the right corner

Campuses

If your institution has multiple campuses that share the same EIN, they can be added and managed in this section.

Campus information can be imported in bulk into user profiles or selected from a drop-down menu on individual profiles' Personal Data pages.

Program Types

Institutions can define specific program types (e.g., Student Athletes, Teachers) for organizational categorization and reporting purposes.

You can Specify the tax year(s) for which each program type is applicable.

Program types can be assigned to foreign persons' profiles on the Personal Data screen.

Identity Providers (IDP)

The Admin Identity Providers and User Identity Providers (IDP) are related to Single Sign-On configurations.

Affiliates

Institutions with multiple affiliates with different EINs can create separate accounts.

1. Affiliates maintain separate user data and settings from the main account.

2. Administrators can manage affiliates either from the main account or directly within each affiliate account.
